Cheon Il Guk Project 'Messianic Transformational Leadership'(12)

한국어 日本語
Part One The concepts of Messianic Transformational Leadership

5. MTL and contemporary leadership styles

I would like to compare the MTL and three types of contemporary leadership: transformational leadership, transactional leadership, and servant leadership. Transformational leadership is based on extraordinary characteristics of a leader who inspires and directs followers by building their commitment to a shared vision and values.(ex Softbank CEO Masayoshi Son) Transactional leadership promotes compliance of his followers through both rewards and punishments. Unlike Transformational leadership, it is not looking to change the future. Servant leadership places the interest of followers before the self-interest of a leader, emphasizes personal development and empowerment of followers.

Meanwhile, MTL seeks to develop their potentials so that they can experience transformation in their personal and spiritual lives and grow in their ability to lead others to experience a similar transformation. The three types of leadership is based on human perspective, while the MTL is based on Heavenly Parents' perspective. Therefore, a Messianic True Leader (1)experiences the Heart of God as if it were his/her own. (2)moves Heavenly Parents before he/she moves the world. (3)takes full responsibility for people for the sake of salvation. (4)transforms miserable situations into godly kingdom, solving spiritual, financial and political problems. (5)transforms enemies into Heavenly Parents’ children.

6. Conclusion

In this 'Cheon IL Guk Project', I gave some evidences of Rev. Moon’s individual perfection during his study abroad in Japan (1941~1943).

Rev. Moon’s course in Japan was (1)parallel to Moses’ palace life.

(2)a period for the restoration of Heavenly Parents’ Words. (3)a period for individual perfection.

I am sure that if we inherit Rev. Moon’s MTL, we will be catalysts for 'healthy, substantive, and lasting kingdom change,' first in ourselves, then in others, in our churches and organizations, in our communities, and ultimately in the world.

The 'Messianic True Leader' should not be controlled by his/her circumstances but he/she should control the environment. “Moses lived in the opulent palace of the Pharaoh but he belittled it by saying, “So what,” and thought more of Heavenly Parents'(God's) nation. Therefore, he was able to become the leader of Heavenly Parents'(God's) nation.” (the Way of God's Will, Leaders)
